Four Scotland Vests for GUBC athletes at Home Internationals
Three men and one woman represent Scotland at Home International Rowing Regatta in Ireland
MOHILL, IRELAND – At the Home International Rowing Regatta, Scotland placed second and third in the Junior Women’s and Senior Men’s Team trophies, buoyed by the contributions of Glasgow University Boat Club athletes.
In the Senior Men’s ranks Ethan MacLachlan and Alexander Beeson placed second in the coxed four for Scotland, and Matthew Hughson helped the Scotland Team to third in the coulees four before combining into the eight – stroked by MacLachlan – who finished second in the 2000m race and third in the 500m race.
For the Junior Women, GUBC were represented by Gemma Collins a first year student who was young enough to compete in the classification. In the pair she and her partner finished second, while in the eight they Scotland team finished third in both the full 2000m and the shorter sprint distance.
