GUBC perform well but miss qualification for Henley Royal Regatta
Glasgow University Boat Club miss out on Qualification in stacked Prince of Wales field
HENLEY-ON-THAMES – As the showpiece event in British Rowing, Henley Royal Regatta attracts a strong entry. GUBC’s offering this year was in the Intermediate Quadruple Sculls event, the Prince of Wales Challenge Cup. After last season making it to Thursday, this year the entry list was far larger, with the crew being sent to the qualifying races.
With the typically challenging conditions, the crew of Joe Flood, Matthew Hughson, Alexander Beeson and Ethan MacLachlan put up a strong showing with a time of 6:36.39 but unfortunately missed out of qualifying for the regatta by a handful of seconds.
